Infernal is from Playlogic, the makers of Sparta Ancient Wars and published by Eidos but just does not come with much creativity. The premise is a very interesting take on the good and bad guy routine, Heaven has a secret organization that is trying to overtake the bad guys on earth. They have eliminated all of Hell's agents and are making the move on the freewill of mankind. Doesn't sound too much like they are from heaven although the premise is pretty good but the action and repetitive nature of the game gets stale pretty quickly.

You play the ex angel Ryan Lennox who was ousted from the Etherlight agency and recruited by the Abyss to stop Etherlight from taking away mankind's free will. I know the story sounds kind of odd but I could work with it. The bad guys are not really that bad and you work for the real bad guys. Whatever, the story is not the best part of most games anyway.

Gameplay in Infernal is not exactly that great, the guys you're killing are either way too easy or just about right. The many Acolytes put in your way to stop you are the common foot soldier of the game but they are very easy to get rid of, but they make a great restoration device as well. When you became the Abyss agent you also get some powers along with the title. One power is you get more manna when you kill as well as you can steal the souls and weapons of your bad guys for a boost in your health.

Infernal contains other unique and interesting techniques but many of them just are not used to the fullest of their potential. There will also be boss monks you need to kill and these guys are the tougher ones that usually involve some sort of additional task before being able to damage them. In one scene you need to shoot something before you can shoot the monk but I'm not saying what.
